Happy Tuesday, Friends!
It's week three of this link up and I cannot thank you guys enough joining in!!! I'm enjoying checking out everyones thrift scores... Admittedly, there are times I'm a bit envious of all the cool treasures that someone else found but it's still motivating.
Above are a few thrifted finds, old and new. The blankets and dolls are from various thrift stores and the wooden bowl was purchased at a garage sale being held by your stereotypical little old 80 something lady. She told me it was made in Hawaii in 1968... Which happens to be my birth year, not to mention Hawaii is where I first fell in love with swimming as a little kid. Factor in my love for well made wooden pieces (and the fact that she was selling it for $5.00) and I knew that the wooden bowl and I were meant to be. Last, a gratuitous pic of Satchmo ... and one of my thrifted blankets. :)
And with that let's get to it:
1. Link up any of your thrift, flea market, side of the road, dumpster diving, on sale, etc finds. I'm talking -anything- from fashion to furniture to obscure items that make people say "what the heck is that thing?!"
2. Kindly follow and link back to Young Heart.
3. Go check out and support some other bloggers! We are blessed with an amazing, diverse community.
4. Have fun!
PS: I'll have thumbnail links by next week.
The dolls are beautiful!! I would have snatched them up to in a heartbeat! =)
ReplyDeleteloving those dolls too. x
ReplyDeleteLove the blankets and the bowl - I used to have a blanket like that in the 1990s that was pink and green, so pretty. I will do my best to snap some pics of recent thrift finds so I can participate next week! xo

I love that wooden bowl with the wooden forks!
ReplyDeleteThe dolls are great. It reminds me I have a little doll from Jamaica around somewhere. My mom's friend gave it to me when I was a kid. I love the wooden bowl too. What a steal. I am collecting the very same blankets (and I put mini lights around my fireplace too). I'm glad you included the shot of Satchmo. He has the sweetest face. He makes me smile. Thanks for hosting! Jo
ReplyDeleteAll your thrifted treasures are gorgeous, as is your dog-who-doubles-as-a-footrest. What a great idea. I use a boyfriend for that.
ReplyDeleteHawaii is on my list, and has been since I fell in love with Elvis when I was 10 :) xxx
